Hi! I'm Mukta.

Holistic Nutritionist & Coach

I teach you how to nourish yourself so you can rekindle your love for food, trust yourself and feel better in your body

Who am I?

I’m a Board Certified holistic nutritionist, mindful eating coach, food lover and founder of Mukta’s Nutrition Kitchen.

I’m a recovering people pleaser who opted out of a well-paying 15-year corporate career; because people-pleasing was wrecking my health and killing my spirit.

(Still working on the people-pleasing bit; but have come a long way in creating boundaries and protecting my energy).

“I’m a cook, not a chef.”

I act like I know what I’m doing in the kitchen; but it’s all one big experiment and 96% of the time, you’ll catch me “hoping it works.”

I’m not a weight-loss coach.

Never been, never will be.

I’m a slow, slow eater.

What I believe…

I believe that diet culture has right-royally f*cked our ability to connect with our bodies and food.

Trouble detecting your hunger signals? *Diet culture*

Obsessed with new diets, detoxes, cleanses or fads promising quick results? *Diet culture*

Making food choices based on calorie counts, macros or a celebrity weight-loss trend? *Diet culture*

Stuck comparing yourself to skinny friends and wondering how they do it? *DIET CULTURE*

I believe that healing begins when you slow down.

Think back to the last time you mastered a skill – like playing an instrument. Didn’t happen overnight, did it? It probably took years of practice; months of slow, incremental progress before you could sight-read.

Your body’s ability to heal might take years. But you’ve got to be willing to slow down to experience sustainable change.

I believe that “what feels good, sticks.”

Feeling rested, nourished and peaceful is addictive. Once your body tastes this feeling, there’s no turning back.

What I promise…

You can learn how to nourish yourself, delight in your food and feel better in your body.

It might take more time, tears, frustration and pints of ice-cream than you expect; but the peace, confidence and freedom you’ll find on the other end is worth it.

I’m here for you: your health, your food cravings, your wins, your “mistakes” (there are no mistakes), your dreams and everything in between.

We’re in this together.

Mukta gave me the tools to manage the most traumatic year of my life. Working with her two years ago, I learned how to prioritize self-care, yoga and nourishing foods. This has helped me make better decisions on a day-to-day basis, feel grounded and get through my emotional trauma. I realized if I hadn’t worked with Mukta, I would have really struggled to cope in a healthy way.”

Me in a nutshell

I’m a giant 5’2″ dork who loves dogs, tacos, big trees, leafy greens, swimming holes and Queer Eye. I left home at the age of 12 and haven’t stopped moving since (current home: Bay Area). I’m married to the love of my life who lets me get away with more than he should. I grew up in five countries, make a mean guac, am obsessed with the Beatles and would stay in bed reading all day if I could.

Let’s connect! Find me on social media (below) & if you haven’t already, grab my monthly nutrition and self-care insider tips.

I would love to hear from you!
